Over 100,000 vaccines expected for Macedonia with first delivery in March

Macedonia is expected to receive between 100,000 and 170,000 doses of AstraZeneca vaccines through the COVAX system from March. COVAX stated that 35% of the delivery would occur in the first quarter of the year, with the remaining delivery expected in the last quarter.

The Macedonian government previously announced it is seeking the Chinese vaccine as EU countries battle to secure enough supplies to vaccinate their respective populations.

There are still doubts whether the government in Skopje is ready to take deliver of any vaccines as they all require special storage conditions. Serbia and Bulgaria said they would donate a portion of their supply however this is yet to occur.
