Archbishop Stefan calls negotiations for Delchev shameful and demeaning

The Archbishop of the Macedonian Orthodox Church, Gospodin gospodin Stefan says that the negotiations between Macedonia and Bulgaria have resulted in shameful and demeaning attacks on the Macedonian people.

Archbishop Stefan held a memorial service at the resting place of Macedonian revolutionary Goce Delchev on the occasion of his birthday on February 4.

The Archbishop stated: “Everything that Goce Delchev did was dedicated for his Macedonian people. It is sad that today, 120 years since his death, there are such shameful and demeaning deeds.”

Delchev never stated anything else except his dedication to the freedom of Macedonia. He never said that anyone of the neighboring people can be better for Macedonia than the Macedonians themselves.”

The Macedonian Archbishop of the Orthodox Church was one of the signatories of the Manifesto for preserving the sanctity of Macedonian identity from foreign attacks.

February 4 marked 149 since the birth of the so-called apostle of the Macedonian revolutionary struggle.
