The Macedonian Football Federation promoted the unofficial anthem of the national team’s historic first appearance in the all-European football competition, popularly known as the Euros.
The video for the song features the likes of Goran Pandev, Elif Elmas, Ezgjan Alioski, Darko Velkovski and others from the winning team that recently defeated Germany in an away game.
The unofficial anthem is titled Odime na Evropsko (Going to the Euros) and shows scenes of fans moving through the cobbled streets of Ohrid and musicians performing the son on top of an open deck bus in Skopje.
The song was well received by the Macedonian public which is always wary about projects of this sort. This time, the producers of the song and the video have done a great job in promoting Macedonia and its football team.
This June, Macedonia will face Austria and Ukraine in Bucharest and the Netherlands in Amsterdam. Members of Coach Igor Angelovski’s squad have stated they are walking into the tournament proud and with nothing to lose, hoping they will clear the group stage.
