EU: Macedonia now safe for travel – Government lifts covid measures

The Macedonian Government has lifted almost all covid restrictions, as the EU marks Macedonia as a safe destination for travel, amid consistently low covid infection rates.

From today there will be no curfew, with restaurants able to work within normal working hours – until midnight during the week and 1am on weekends. Weddings and celebrations are permitted to have more than 100 guests, but no more than 50 percent of the capacity of the venue and only in open areas and terraces.

Outdoor events with a maximum of 1000 visitors will also be allowed.

The lifting of restrictions comes at a time when the EU has started to open up for travel with the release of digital health passports – which are not required for entry into Macedonia.
