An emergency financial aid package to support suffering covid effected industries has been passed in the Macedonian Parliament – two covid positive MPs where rushed from domestic isolation in hazmat suits and ambulances in order to vote the bill through.
Industries across the country are crippled due to the covid restrictions, with Macedonia experiencing a 50% loss of jobs (link) since the start of the pandemic last year.
Although parties from the opposition, supported the measure by voting for it, they protested the bringing of covid positive individuals to Parliament.
Levica’s Dimitar Apasiev complained that the Speaker endangered the lives of his colleagues by allowing the move.
