Macedonian football fans who want to support the national team at the Euros can finally buy tickets for one of the three matches.
After a long wait for the release of the tickets, Macedonians can breathe a sigh of relief thanks to the significant relaxation of the anti-covid measures.
Romania had announced it will allow visiting fans to remain in the country for no more than three days.
The Netherlands had initially opted for a total ban of visiting fans from Macedonia, as a non-Schengen and non-EU member state.
In a reversal of fortunes, both federations had announced that visiting fans can enter the stadiums with a negative PCR or a proof of immunization with two doses of an anti-covid vaccine.
In addition to the above, the Romanian authorities have stated that there is no limit to the length of the stay. This means fans travelling from Macedonia or with a Macedonian passport can stay for both games in Bucharest.
As for procuring tickets, Macedonian citizens need to apply for the chance to buy one or two tickets.
Due to covid restrictions, stadiums will not be open at full capacity, except for Budapest.
Macedonia’s football federation has been given 2,000 tickets.
Unofficial information is that around 700 tickets have been claimed by football players for their friends and family, sponsors of the football team, FFM officials and politicians.
Everybody else needs to apply for the remaining 1,300 tickets for Macedonia in the Euros.
To do this, fans need to send an email with the game they wish to attend and the number of tickets (up to four). This information is addressed to biljana.velkovska@ffm.com.mk no later than May 25 at 11:00 PM.
If selected, the individual will be provided a code which is then applied in the online form on UEFA’s ticketing platform.
Macedonian fans have been placed in the Category 3 ticket level. The cost of a single ticket is 30 euro for Bucharest and 50 Euro for Amsterdam.
Macedonia’s games at the Euros are as follows:
June 13, Macedonia – Austria
June 17, Macedonia – Ukraine
June 21, Macedonia – Netherlands
